The 50 year journey of a Canadian owned and operated company

Northern Alarm Protection Co., Ltd. got its start in Scarborough Ontario on July 27, 1971 by founding owners, Charle Whynot and Harold Myers. Ted joined the company in 1973 and when the two owners retired, Ted bought the company and moved it to Richmond Hill, Ontario. A hands-on owner, Ted hired a Technician and two salesmen, one being his son David. His wife, Maureen, joined the company and with a lot of hard work, sacrifices and luck, NAP went on to celebrate 50 years in business on July 27, 2021. Using the philosophy of working with each client to design the best security solution for their individual requirements, NAP has embraced the ever-changing environment of security systems, going from basic alarm systems to the more sophisticated video surveillance systems. We are excited to announce that we have opened a second location in Waterdown, to better serve our customers in Southwestern Ontario

NAP also recognizes the need to give back to the community through various charitable works. David has taken it a step further by running the annual Charity Golf Tournament which brings together the “Tribe” to help and enhance the lives of individuals who need assistance.
